STORIES

Gender-based violence survivor

At a very young age, Sita (name changed) faced violence and neglect in her own home. With nowhere to go, she was rescued and brought to Ideal Home, Nepal, where she received safe shelter, psychosocial counseling, and education support. Through continuous counseling and life-skills training, Sita slowly regained confidence. She joined the sewing and hand-embroidery training program, where she discovered her talent and passion. Today, she earns her own income by stitching clothes for local customers and supports her younger siblings’ education.
